After Nepal...

Many of you know I have recently returned from a few weeks in Nepal. People keep asking me ‘how was it??’ I struggle each time to truly answer this in a way that holds the emotion of how I felt during my time trekking in and experiencing the culture and land of Nepal. This morning I opened my weekly email from I Love Chakra and saw this quote;

Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realise there is nothing lacking, the world belongs to you.
— Lao Tzu

This sums it up.

I experienced pure joy in the simplicity of the simplicity.

Walking. Watching. Experiencing.

BEING.

The breathtaking beauty of the ever changing landscape. The insightful conversations with fellow travellers. The heart warming jokes with the Nepalese people. The connection I felt with my partner.

Savouring the breath between each moment which seemed to extend further the higher we climbed.

CONNECTION.

And I mean true connection, without speakers, screens or mobile phones.

SIMPLICITICY.

Observing and participating in a simple way of living. Eating a vegetarian diet, drinking tea and playing cards at night.

Perfection really.

Don’t get me wrong it’s not all cakes and cherries. The Nepalese, while known as some of the happiest people in the world don’t live an easy life. Long days filled with hard and heavy labour is the reality for many Nepalese adults and children, especially the women. But there is a happiness that seems to trascend this. Perhaps it’s the slower pace. Perhaps it’s the moments they find for laughter with friends. Perhaps it’s the beauty of the land around them. Perhaps it's because they appreciate what they HAVE not what they need next.

So now my goal is to connect to exactly what I am experiencing in each moment of my life. Re-connecting to myself and all the blessings I have right now. Some may be blessings in disguise, but in there somewhere, there is a blessing. It's just waiting for us to find it.

Just made it to Annapurna Base Camp. I love the description 'internal trekkers'. When you think about it, it makes perfect sense.

If you need some inspiration to rekindle your relationship with yourself, I would love to share with you some of my insights, tailored to what you require to help you to connect. In this moment, right now.

Namaste,

Rachelle
